Your company books, kept by you.
KiBuxs, say it “key books”: secure books you keep yourself, so you keep more bucks.
KiBuxs™ is accounting software for UK limited companies that runs on your own computer. Bank imports, receipts, VAT, payroll, year end and Companies House deadlines, all in one place, with nothing stored in the cloud. KiBuxs prepares it, you or your accountant file it, so you stop paying for bookkeeping.

What's in a name?
Say it out loud: KiBuxs. One name, three promises.
Key Books
Locked up tight
Your books sit behind your own key: one encrypted file on your computer that only your password opens.
Keep books
Do it yourself, properly
Keep your own books with confidence. KiBuxs walks you through every job, from the first bank import to the year end.
Keep Bucks
Keep more of your money
No monthly subscription and less spent on accountant's fees. The money your company makes stays with your company.
Features
Everything a small limited company needs through the year
From the first bank import to the year-end accounts, KiBuxs walks you through each job in plain English and gets everything ready to file. File it yourself, or pay an accountant just to file it and save on bookkeeping fees. See the screens or compare prices.
Bank statements
Import CSV or PDF statements from most UK banks. KiBuxs suggests a category for each line, gets the VAT right, and learns from your changes.
Receipts
Add receipts from your computer, or snap them with your phone over your own Wi-Fi. The text is read for you, and every receipt is searchable.
Invoices
Create numbered invoices with the details UK rules ask for, including CIS for construction work and credit notes, and see who still owes you.
VAT returns
All nine boxes worked out from your books, ready for you or your accountant to file with HMRC. VAT is optional if you're not registered.
Pay yourself
Plan salary and dividends, see the tax each way, and keep payslips and dividend paperwork in order.
Year end and corporation tax
Corporation tax worked out with current UK rates, losses carried forward and the right capital allowances for vans and cars. You get micro-entity accounts as an iXBRL file and the CT600 figures ready to copy.
Companies House
Deadlines for accounts and your confirmation statement, with everything prepared for you or your accountant to file online.
Report a problem or suggest an idea
Send us bug reports, feedback and feature requests from App info. Only what you write is included, and nothing is sent without you.
More than one company
Run several companies under one password, each with its own books, settings and backups. Each company needs its own licence key.
Updates built in
Check for updates from App info and install them in a few clicks. Your books stay exactly where they are.
Hide amounts
One click swaps every figure on the dashboard for stars, handy when someone can see your screen.
Eight colour themes
Pick the look you like, in light or dark, right down to the sign-in screen.

Privacy by design
Your books never leave your computer
Most accounting software keeps your figures on someone else's servers. KiBuxs keeps them in one encrypted file on your own PC. We can't see them, and neither can anyone else.
- AES-256 encryption. Each company's books, receipts and settings are encrypted with a key made from your password.
- No account, no cloud. There is nothing to sign up to and no online copy to leak.
- You decide what goes out. KiBuxs prepares your returns and you or your accountant file them. The app doesn't connect to HMRC, and only looks up Companies House if you ask it to.
- Automatic backups. Hourly encrypted copies, plus a daily copy to your USB stick once you choose a backup folder.
The company year
Every deadline, worked out from your dates
KiBuxs builds your calendar from your year end and VAT quarters, and reminds you before each one.
| When | What | Who to |
|---|---|---|
| Every quarter | VAT return and payment 1 month and 7 days after the quarter ends | HMRC |
| Monthly | Payroll (RTI) on or before each payday Payslips and figures ready for Basic PAYE Tools | HMRC |
| Every year | Confirmation statement Within 14 days of your review date | Companies House |
| 9 months | Annual accounts 9 months after your year end | Companies House |
| 9 months + 1 day | Corporation tax payment 9 months and 1 day after your year end | HMRC |
| 12 months | Company tax return (CT600) 12 months after your year end | HMRC |
Standard UK deadlines for a limited company. Your first year can differ, and KiBuxs handles that too.

FAQ
Questions people ask
Who is KiBuxs for?
Directors of small UK limited companies, especially one-person companies and contractors, who want to keep their own books and prepare their own year end.
Where is my data kept?
On your own computer, in an encrypted file. We never receive a copy of your books, and there's no KiBuxs cloud account to hack. Our privacy policy explains the details.
Does it file my returns for me?
No. KiBuxs prepares it, you file it. It does your bookkeeping and gets your VAT returns, CT600 figures and Companies House accounts ready to file, and keeps track of every deadline. You file them yourself, or pay an accountant just to file, which costs far less than paying them to do your bookkeeping. Payroll is reported with HMRC's free Basic PAYE Tools. KiBuxs doesn't connect to HMRC during the Beta.
Do I still need an accountant?
Many small company directors manage without one. KiBuxs explains each step in plain English, but it isn't professional advice. For big decisions, such as selling the company or an HMRC enquiry, speak to a qualified accountant.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. You can also open it in your browser on the same computer, and use your phone to add receipts.
What happens if my computer breaks?
KiBuxs saves an encrypted backup every hour, and can copy a daily backup to a USB stick or external drive once you choose a backup folder in Settings. Restore it on a new computer with your password.
What does Founders Beta mean?
KiBuxs is in Beta while we finish and test it with early users. Founders pay £99 once and keep KiBuxs, with every update, for life. There’s no yearly fee, even after version 1.0, when new customers will pay £199 and then £99 a year for updates. See pricing for details.
